Gentleman and the Single Lady

Educated, wearing proper outfit, walking proud like a strong man, having been called “my lion son,” since the age of three and so he is assured of himself. Whatever the social roles have ordered, he has carried out, but we don’t see that the inner war inside him is triggered by the culture he has been feeding on. He sees the all the women outside his family as potential mates like the beauties on the third page of the newspapers. In the bottom line, he doesn’t confess that his relationship between the opposite sex, is solely based on the instinct of “I wish she could be mine!” I’m going to talk about the males, who are straight up until they are a little bit cornered. I’m going to talk about those males those males who bring out the devil in them and get rude and wild when they are under a little bit under pressure. Those cavemen, who make you feel like you have a torn stuck into your hand, when you shake hands. Those men who seem so gentle, sympathetic and charming when you look from the outside…

The expert says, this rudeness against the women and the feeling of crushing down under judgments generally relate to the economical or the sexual insufficiency in the social roles… How could it not be so? My grandfather has raised five kids with his only teacher salary. Today a teacher couple can only raise one kid by tearing themselves apart by having two, three other jobs. Could these people have a normal sexual life! Does the so called “Man of the family” still retain the same reputation in the eyes of the wife? Really, can the man of the family still stay strong like a man within this dispute?

The examples of the woman kind used to come out from their own neighborhood. She would either become a bad women by not accepting her fate like Feride, or become the mother of her children like Semiha by agreeing with her husband. There weren’t any other stories of examples other than Feride and Semiha, either…Furthermore, people never got the chance to talk to Feride and Semiha on one on one and learn what those good/bad stamps cost them and learn which one is regretting now, and which one has a peaceful mind!

Right now people have seven billion examples of all kind… Just sit down by the TV and watch who has had a lost, how and by which mistake and paid back what in turn. Has she become less of a woman or more, they are all at the parade in the news. Life is passing by like a flood of mistakes and dragging anyone before it. The women have given up being women and men are tired of their manhood. Henceforth, the gentlemen and the ladies are confused about their damaged identities and carrying on the inner argument of how much they can stay as “themselves” under which role, having been dragged around in front of the flood. The women and men are no longer able to carry on their natural roles together. Everybody is having a divorce…It is as if the other person they hope to meet is not also from among the ones who are running before the flood.

Why did I tell you all these? A heartbroken woman gets introduced with a heartbroken man. Within their heart, they both carry the hope of being a partner to each other within all the loneliness dragged by the civilization. Completing each other with love, without dragging in unhappiness and completing each other by working out together like partners without being judgmental… The man has passed his forties, however he has never gotten married. The women gets surprised, “Haven’t you met any single women?” she says. “I have met many single women, but none of them were ladies,” the man answers. The woman thinks about the men she has met and smiles painfully. A lot of “men” have come out of the flood, which drags about all of us, however none of them have been “gentlemen…”

At this civilization mill where all the gentlemen and ladies give up of their courtesy, blood doesn’t dry.
